April Inspiration "Sweet" for MTW Challenge

Mixed Media Layout - "Sweet"

Hello Friends..

Can't believe it's already April.. the year seems like running!!
This month on MTW Challenge, we have lots of cute and cuddly things happening.
You will find out in the Moodboard below.

Isn't that lovely!!

It was a perfect opportunity for me to create one more layout with my baby’s picture. I have chosen pastel coloured paper with lavender, pastel green and white color scheme.

For this Layout, I used paper from 49 & Market "Bold & Beautiful" collection. It has some really pretty pastel coloured sheets with lovely floral patterns.
I worked on the background with Lindy's spray and magicals+Finnabair's modelling paste+Tim Holtz stencil "Harlequin"
Finished on the background with random stamping.

I coloured the blooms with the same spray as background. For the die cut leaves, I used Lindy's spray again and also Lindy's EP.

I have used a couple of 2Crafty Chipboards.. the title "sweet" that I have embossed with Lindy's EP and a flourish above the picture in its original colour.
I finished up this layout with finnabair's art stones and Vintage art pebbles.
Some more close ups..

With this project, I participate in Lindy's March Color Challenge

March Inspiration "Timeless Treasure" for 2Crafty Chipboard

Altered Hoop - "Timeless Treasure"

Hello Friends..

Back to share second bit of my March Inspiration for 2Crafty Chipboard, and I have a vintage boutique themed assemblage artwork on a hoop, using some gorgeous pieces of chipboards from 2Crafty.

I love vintage. Creating this piece has been wonderful. With the chipboard elements, I have used a lot of boutique themed ephemera lying around in my stash, along with a couple of metal embellishments from Finnabair
This project was perfect for those Mini Torsos in my chipboard collection from 2Crafty.

I have not used any paints and mediums in this project except for the Finnabair's wax in "Vintage Gold" on all of the chippies, which made them pop out beautifully. I chose to keep this project rather straightforward, just assembling the elements in their original form.
I loved the "Rose set" on the very base. The pieces blended well with the theme.
Photographing my artwork is another thing that I fully enjoy!!
Some more close ups..

“The Wilderness is Calling” - GD 7 Dots Studio

Mixed Media Layout
" The wilderness is calling"

Hello Friends..

Today I am glad to share this layout that I have guest designed for 7 Dots Studio this month.
It's been an honour and a wonderful opportunity.

Inspired by their March challenge Moodboard..

I created a mixed media layout based on the current 7 Dots Studio Challenge moodboard.
The elements and colours inspired me to create something refreshing, therefore I decided to use garden party collection, which is so full of nature. I love adding details and texture to the background with different mediums and techniques. I have used Lindy's spray in "kissin kenicki coral" in the background along with more texture using stencil and some background stamps. I used gorgeous flowers from 49 & Market. With my flowers and foliage embellishments, I also used some dried leaves beneath the layers as I love to add natural elements in my projects. I added some Finnabair's vintage art pebbles. The old picture of a herb and the title added more sense to my overall theme.
Here are some close-ups..

March Inspiration "Backyard Adventure" for 2Crafty Chipboard

Mixed Media Tag
"Backyard Adventure"

Hello Friends..

Back on 2Crafty Chipboard today with my inspiration work for March, I created Mixed Media work on a large wooden tag. As the spring is around, I themed it on gardening/kitchen garden with lots of brown and green hues and a complementary photo.

The leaves/foliage and flourish chippies from 2Crafty are my most favourite always and I incorporate them in most of my projects. I have used the beautiful leafy stems along with other fabulous pieces.

I have used a couple of round chipboard negatives along with pieces of circle stack and checkerboard bits all over the base of the tag, and then covering them all with Finnabair's heavy white gesso
I then applied Finnabair's sand texture paste with a stencil. Once everything dried nicely, I coloured the background with distress spray stains. This gave a nice textured background.

For the summer leaf stems, I applied Finnabair's Metallique Acrylic Paint in "Golden Moss" and "Green olive".
I have used some natural wood pieces, cheesecloth and sisal between the layers.

For the Brooke's swirl chippie that I layered under the photo, I have applied Finnabair's wax in "bronze age" and "vintage gold". I have added highlights of these waxes on the background chippies as well. This gave a nice finish to the pieces.

MTW Inspiration - Fantasy & Wings

Mixed Media Canvas

"ARTIST"

Hello Friends..

It's time for a new challenge over at More Than Words and we have a fantastic theme this month.
The word inspiration "FANTASY" and the creative challenge is using WINGS in your project.
So how does the word Fantasy inspires you.. ?

Here's my interpretation of the Challenge...

As an artist, my life itself is a FANTASY. Based on this thought, I created a mixed media canvas with a winged heart as I believe that art gives WINGS to your feelings and imagination. Art truly sets you free!

I created the background with Finnabair's Metallique Acrylic Paint in "Mermaid Teal" and stencil "Manuscript".  To go with the stencil, I mixed magic paint by Fabrika Decoru in "Bronze" with Finnabair's 3d gloss gel. To make myself happier with the background, I did some background stamping.
Next, I prepared my focal elements.. Winged Hearts and vintage key from 2Crafty Chipboard.
I gessoed the elements black and then applied Finnabair's wax in "Rich Copper" on the key and the smaller winged heart. Rich Copper is one of my most favorite color in these waxes.
I used one of Finnabair's Ephemera piece and some strings to build the focal point.
I often use those Numbers from Finnabair's Mechanicals. I love them!

To finish up, I added some splatters of Distress spray in "Walnut Stain" in the background and also some smaller white ones.
A quick tip: When in doubt, just add splatters!!
:)
