"Treasure" - Finnabair Inspired

Hello there,

Today I have a project inspired by Finnabair and had a wonderful experience doing this Notebook Cover.

The Finnabair waxes do all the magic. They are so versatile and kind of addictive. In this project I used Antique Brilliance "Lucky Emerald", opal magic "Royal Robes" and Metallique "Vintage Gold". I covered the embellishments with black gesso and applied the waxes just in a way I wanted, until I got the desired results.

Inspired by nature

Hello there,

Today I am inspired by nature's wonders and this inspiration comes from Mixed Media & Art Joint project stage 3 - "The breath of nature".

For this challenge, one element from nature has to be used which should not be from scrap store and one more obligatory element is letters in any form. I have used natural soil in my project along with Mixed Media Supplies.

Hope you got inspired :)
Have a wonderful day!!

DT inspiration for Words & Paintery October Challenge

Hi there..

Today I am here to share my inspiration project for Words & Paintery October Challenge which is having a gorgeous color palette. Also this is my entry for Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo October Challenge where the theme is to use watercolors.

I created a mixed media panel and my focal point, the wings, are painted in watercolors and fussy cut.
I started off with a thick cardboard panel which I took out from an old unused photo frame. Applied white gesso all over and then I decoupaged it with a scripted tissue paper. I focused on my background alot as I was not using many embellishments on this project and wanted my background to be interesting. I then applied more of gesso on the decoupaged background and then did some stenciling(Tim Holtz) using modelling paste(Prima). I used brick pattern.
The next step was applying colors. I used spray and magical pigment powder from Lindy's. Once I was satisfied with the amount of colors on my background, I started to arrange the embellishments. I used some Finnabair embellishments and a key from my stash. I applied Finnabair wax (vintage gold) on all of the metal embellishments to make them all synchronise and come together.
Finally some white splashes with gesso and finished it with a quote strip (Tim Holtz).
Some detailed pictures..

This project is my entry for Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo October Challenge

Hope I inspired you today :)

Guest Designer Mixed Media & Art

Hello Friends,

I am extremely glad to share my project as a Guest Designer for Mixed Media & Art. This project is an inspiration for MMA Creative Art Joint Project stage 2 - Crystal Beauty.

The challenge is to use one transparent element NOT from scrap store and circles in any form. So here I used a cling film from my kitchen in an embroidery hoop to create a fine base for my mixed media work. I used flowers from Prima Zella Teal collection, chipboard from Dusty Attic and some Finnabair embellishments.

Hope you got inspired today :)
Have a wonderful day!!

Mixed Media Canvas - Boutique Treasures

Hi there...

October is keeping me busier than usual.. more of art everyday :)
Today I have a mixed media project to share which is loaded with stuff, and I had a wonderful time doing it.

The project is based on the theme for Stage 1 of Creative Art Joint Project by Mixed Media & Art - Mechanical Explosion, where one obligatory metal element has to be used, which shouldn't be from the scrapbook store, and the use of wings in any form. Quite an interesting project started by MMA which opens more possibilities for creativity. This project is also inspired by More Than Words October challenge where the theme is to use fabric somewhere.
For this project I had quite a number of things in mind as metal element is already popular in mixed media and there are lots of things to choose from, but here the element should not be from scrap store. So I decided to work on a boutique/sewing kind of theme and use a couple of bobbins that I had in my sewing box. This way I could incorporate the elements from both MMA and MTW.
To start with, I took a canvas board as my base and glued some laces and scrap pieces of cardstock in an uneven manner. Also I included a measuring tape and a couple of chipboard scraps for a more enhanced background. Then I arranged all the embellishments and elements - BOBBINS, pair of small scissors, buttons and some Finnabair stuff, and covered the whole panel with white gesso.
Now the panel is all set for some color. This time I had no clue what color to apply. I was totally blank, yet wanted it to be bright and beautiful. I randomly picked one of  Magicals set from Lindy's - "Hawaiian Islands" which has some really pretty colors. I decided to add more highlights with some rust and patina pastes from Finnabair, followed by Finnabair Wax - "White Gold" on the metal elements and on chipboard. I couldn't wait to add my Prima flowers and Julie Nutting doll that I adore in this whole project. I created wings for the doll with wire and net. For the final touch, I added in some areas, Glass glitter by Finnabair in the shade "Gold Rush" which actually gave a gorgeous shine. Finished it off with highlights of white gesso and some text stickers by Tim Holtz.
That's all of it!!

Mixed Media Warriors DT Inspiration for October Challenge

Hello there..

Autumn is here and as always, it's beautiful!!
Sharing today my first inspirational project as a design team for Mixed Media Warriors. The Moodboard is full of Autumn Colors..

For this Layout I used paper from fabrika Decoru BOTANY Autumn collection and gorgeous flowers from 49andmarket. I also incorporated a pretty chipboard piece again from Fabrika Decoru.
To start with, I prepared the base with white gesso and worked on my background with stencil( Tim Holts) and modelling paste (Prima art basics), also did some background stamping. I layered the photograph with scrap pieces of papers and then arranged everything together with some bmore embellishments. Further added some orange shades using Prima water soluble oil pastels. To put more interest, I sprinkled copper micro beads (Prima) and added art stones.
Finally highlighted everything with white gesso and finished my page with a watercolored slice of orange and some text.
