Floral Wreath

Mixed Media

Hi there..
Summers are shining bright, though here in Britain, rains never fail to surprise us just anytime :)
Today's project is unique in itself.. it's a wreath decorated in mixed media style, subtle colors, loaded with lots of prima flowers. I am loving it!!

The June Challenge boards are full of pastles, flowers, shabby chic.. so I decided to do something on that line.
This wreath I grabbed sometime back from Hobbycraft.. I love altering things.. it makes me feel like accomplished.. satisfied. Altered art is amazing in itself.
I have used some dried natural moss too in this project. The cage chipboard and the home sign just fit in so well. I rubbed a lot of finnabair wax in "white gold" all over the wreath after gesso.. also did some touches over the flowers and leaves. It gave a beautiful shabby chic look.
Some closer shots..

With this project I join in:

Hope you enjoyed and got inspired to beautify things around you.
See you again.. have a great day!!

Abstract Flowers

Mixed Media Canvas

Hello..
Today, I was up with doing something on my canvas.. I was feeling inspired and totally heARTful, grabbed an 8*8 inches canvas and the wonderful jars of Prima art alchemy acrylic paints. I let my brushes to rest today and did the whole painting with my fingers.. yes.. and it was so interesting and so much fun. Just a bit of control is needed.. it's a quick process to create an abstract art.

These paints are so luscious and the colors are vibrant. They are very versatile in nature.. can be used in any project with different techniques.
For the background I have used my basic acrylic paints in several shades, most prominent is white. I also did some background stamping and absolutely loved how it added some more interest to the whole project.
Some more pictures..

Art alchemy acrylic paints used in the project:
Metallic Green Olive
Metallic Rich Turquoise
Metallic Light Patina
Metallic steampunk copper

With this project, I participate to:

Drawing inspiration from the colors in the moodboards.

Hope you had a lovely time reading this post and got inspired.. thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!!

Mixed Media Altered Book

Hello there..
Today I have yet another altered art to share.. this time I worked on an old book and transformed it into a rustic art piece.

It is a hard bound very old book and I had super amazing time working on this.
I started with sticking some bits of printed tissue paper on the front panel of the book followed by some strokes of Prima heavy gesso. Then I added some interesting texture with cheese cloth, adhering it with Prima 3D gloss gel. Once it dried well, I added another coat of gesso to make it ready for coloring part. To add some more interest, I tied a natural hemp in the middle around the book.
Added a metal clock embellishment from Prima, chipboards from Dusty Attic and few flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. Now it was the time to use the wonderful rust effect pastes from Finnabair.. they are so cool. All the three shades just come together so well and so natural and blend nicely with water. I am in love with these. I also applied the pastes to the metal clock and chipboard scrolls.. they look so naturally rusty.
I used Prima metallic acrylic paint in "Light Patina" in some bit of areas. Finally some art stones and glass glitter.
Some detailed pictures..

This project is my submission for Words & Paintery Design Team and also for the May Challenge

Thank you so much for stopping by. Hope you had a good time with this post.
Have a great week!!
