May Inspiration "ART" for 2Crafty Chipboard

Mixed Media Frame

"ART"

Hi friends..

Back on 2Crafty Chipboard to share my inspiration for this month. I altered a wooden circular Frame  in Mixed Media as a beautiful home decor piece, using some of the gorgeous chipboard pieces from 2Crafty.

Creating textures is one of my favourites in mixed media.
Here on this frame, I did a lot of crackle effect.
The frame is from Woodouts, it was in two parts - a ring and a circular panel that I glued together to use it as a frame.
I started off with Finnabair's heavy white gesso all over the base, followed by a generous amount of crackle effect paste. I left it to dry on its own for a few hours. Drying crackle paste in the air gives better results than using heat tool.

I have used three different designs of chippies here, colouring them using Finnabair's acrylic paints.
For the Berry Wines chippies, I have applied the colour "Golden Moss". I love this colour and you will find it in most of my projects.
I applied Finnabair's acrylic sparks in "unicorn's hair" to the corner flourishes and the vintage frame that I've cut in half and used on the picture. This colour gave a lovely shine to the chippies.
Tip: Use a small piece of sponge to apply colour to the chippies for a textured finish.

Next, I arranged the elements, focusing on designing mainly on one side and minimally on the other. I created layers with chippies, some leftover pieces of clay embellishments, metal pieces, old brushes, paper blooms and a sticker photo from Finnabair's words you need - Art Daily Sticker Pad.

To add some colour, I used Finnabair's Acrylic paint in "Romance Pink". I was inspired by the moodboard of Mixed Media place current challenge to use this particular colour in my project.
I loved the outcome with this colour.
I then added some finishing touches all over with Finnabair's waxes in "vintage gold" and "mystic turquoise".
And finally, some Finnabair's vintage Art pebbles and art stones and some pink micro beads.

May Inspiration "Home" for Woodouts!

Mixed Media Altered  House
"Home"

Hello Friends..
Coming back with this month’s inspiration project with woodouts!
I chose to alter the woodouts! house this time as a home decor piece, in mixed media, using lots of Finnabair mediums and paints.

Special about this project is the use of natural dried flowers and seashells.
I used Finnabair’s plaster paste first on the base and adhered the flowers therein. This paste dries really hard and gives a nice finish.

Once the paste dried thoroughly, I arranged the elements and covered it all with Finnabair’s white gesso, followed by Metallique acrylic paint in “Royal blue”.
And finally, the magic of Finnabair’s waxes comes into the picture. I highlighted the piece with waxes in “Lucky Emerald” and “old silver”.

Entering this project to Finnabair's Art Recipe challenge

Obligatory products used:

Art Basics - Heavy white gesso
Art Alchemy waxes - Old silver, Lucky Emerald

Hope you liked the project and got inspired!

MTW May Challenge Inspiration - Weekend + Multiple Photos

Mixed Media Layout

"good day"

Hello Friends..

It's time for another interesting challenge over at More Than Words.
This time we have a theme of WEEKEND with a creative part to use MULTIPLE PHOTOS in your project.

Here's my interpretation of the challenge..

The WEEKEND in our family belongs to our li'l champ most of the times. He is the one most excited every Friday, especially in the Summer. I picked his old PICTURES when he was learning to ride a scooter on some weekend in a park.

This being a boy layout, I chose the suitable elements and designed it accordingly.
The paper is an old one from my stash.
For the color splash, I used Lindy's startbust in "milk chocolate brown", which actually is more rustic.  I worked further on the background with stamps from kaisercraft and aall & create. Also I added some washi tapes from Prima.

I used several chippies from 2Crafty, gears and the line word "good day".
I applied Finnabair's rust paste in "camouflage" to the gears and some highlights of wax in "white gold" on the gears as well as other metal embellishments that I have used around.

I applied Finnabair's white gesso on the line word chippie and distressed the edges.
I used some Finnabair's embellishments here as you can see.. mechanicals and art pebbles.
Doing a boy layout is a real fun I must say, with no flowers and no pretty stuff!

Hope you liked the project and got inspired!!
