February Inspiration for MTW Challenge

Mixed Media Layout
"Let it snow"

Hello my dear friends..
It's time for February Challenge over at More Than Words and here I am with my inspiration project. This month's word inspiration is "Always" and creative challenge is your favorite quote.

The word ALWAYS inspired me to create a winter layout. Like the seasons ALWAYS change, take a lesson from them and be ready for the changes in life and challenges thereon.. like the quote on my page says, “be open to whatever comes next.. let it snow”

For this layout I chose to be monochromatic for the first time and quite happy with the results.
I started off with a layer of heavy white gesso over the working area in the middle. Then I mixed texture powder with Fabrika decoru magic paint in "black", for the stencil pattern.

Then I added color with distress spray stain in "Hickory smoke" and let it spread with water.
Once the background is done and dry, I added some embossed stamping (product list at the end of the post). I also added some more random stamping with black archival ink. I love using background stamps in most of my projects. Finally added some color splatters.

Next I started with the collage. I used 2Crafty chippie pannel covered with white gesso, as the first thing to be put, followed by other paper and flower elements around the photo.
I embossed my die cut leaves with Lindy's EP in "Midnight Bronze" (same used for background).
I sprayed my flowers with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in "Abominable snowman", which has a beautiful shine.

Once happy with the arrangement of all the elements and embellishments, I added loads of art stone and distress glitter in "pumice stone". I also added some white nuvo drops here and there.
Finally finished off with more splatters and stamping.

January Inspiration "Beauty" for 2Crafty Chipboard

Mixed Media Canvas
"Beauty"

Hello dear friends..
I am back again with more January inspiration for 2Crafty Chipboard.
I created a Mixed Media Canvas using some beautiful chipboard pieces from 2Crafty.

I have created a lot of texture and layers on this canvas and incorporated the chippies therein.
I started off with a layer of finnabair's plaster paste and dried it thoroughly before moving on to the next step. Once the canvas dried, I applied some colour with Lindy's startbust and finnabair's metallique acrylic paint in "plum preserve".

Next for added texture, I applied sand texture paste with stencil, mixed with Fabrika decoru magic paint in broze color.

Now I prepared my chippies.
For Ruby's swirl and mini word, I used Finnabair's metallique acrylic paint in "Plum Preserve" and wax in "Vintage gold". For Moroccan panel, I covered it with black gesso, followed by the wax highlights.

I then layered all the elements with the photos. I used Prima IOD mould to create a couple of my own embellishments here. Finished my project with art stones and micro beads.

January Inspiration "Happiness" for 2Crafty Chipboard

Mixed Media Layout

"Happiness"

Hello dear friends..

I am back with my January inspiration for 2Crafty Chipboard and created a winter layout using my favourite 2Crafty chipboards and other mixed media supplies.

I used the circle stack chippies and they form the main design elements in my layout along with the line word "Happiness".
The paper is from 7Dots Studio 9th wave collection and my Layout is inspired by their current challenge as well as the current challenge of Mixed Media & Art.

I worked on the background with some scrap papers, washi and masking tape, followed by clear  gesso. Then I added some more texture with sand paste and stencil. Next was the color splash of lindy's and finally some random background stamping for added texture.

Chippies: I applied white gesso to circle pieces and distressed the edges.
For the line word, I used White embossing powder from Lindy's.
For the Fine Leafy Bush chippie, I applied a layer of gesso, followed by distress spray in "walnut stain".

For embellishing more, I used flowers, die cut leaves and some Metal embellishments.
As final touches, I added some white Nuvo drops and Finnabair's art stones.

Inspiration for MTW Challenges January 2019

Mixed Media Layout
"Motherhood Goals"

Hello there..
Today I am really excited to reveal my first inspiration project as DT for More Than Words Challenges in 2019. A unique concept of combining a word inspiration and creative challenge. To start the new year, we have the word inspiration "Goals" and the creative challenge is to add journaling in your project in any form.

I created a Mixed Media Layout featuring my daughter's picture and stating a few lines for her in printed form, counting them as my motherhood goals.

I worked on my background using Lindy's sprays, Finnabair's Modelling paste and background stamps. Then I created several layers with the photograph. I like to use old book pages in most of my projects and here also I have incorporated them in different ways.

I love to enhance the beauty of the floral embellishments in my layout and for that, I always prefer to color the flowers in coordination with the overall colour scheme and I love to colour the die cut leaves in different ways. Here I used Lindy's sprays and Finnabair's metallique acrylic paint to colour the leaves as well as the flowers.

To finish off,  I added lots of art stones and micro beads.

Supplies used:

Prima/Finnabair clear gesso
Prima/Finnabair modelling paste
stencil from Vicki Boutin
Background stamps by kaisercraft
Lindy's sprays: Mountain Lavender Gold
                     Kissing Kenickie Coral
              Gator Gumbo olive
Prima/Finnabair Metallique acrylic paints: "Golden Moss"
                                                                         "Plum Preserves"
Flowers from wild orchid crafts
Distress ink pad "vintage photo"
Prima/Finnabair mini art stones
Prima/Finnabair micro beads "copper"

Hope you enjoyed the post and got inspired!!

Wishing you a very Happy New Year 2019
