ESCAPE

A mixed media art journal layout themed on sand and sea. That's my entry for Mixed Media and Art March moodboard

Blue instantly takes my mind to sea. Here is the moodboard and it's lovely!!

I drew inspiration from the colors and the picture of boat. Tried to incorporate the sea and sand on my layout.
I used a lot of art stones from finnabair to get that effect. Firstly I covered the base with an old book pages to make my pages look slightly shabby and it also gives a nice ready made background to work on. I did some stenciling using Tim Holtz stencil and used water colors in my desired shade of blue and managed to get that golden shade to signify the sand. Some finnabair metal embellishments to add to the final touch. It took a second for me to get the title for this project πŸ™‚

 Life is Beautiful

Life is beautiful with loved ones!!
That's my layout for two challenges this month: Dusty Attic March Moodboard and Words and Paintery March Challenge
This is my very first 12*12 layout. I have been into mixed media canvases and art journal layouts. But this is something addictive.. I must say I am totally in love with designing scrapbook layouts!!

I took some inspiration from the sketch and slightly from the white color in the Dusty Attic mood board. I loved the shapes and black patterns in the sketch and tried to capture that into my layout. For the words and Paintery, I used blue tones in my layout as that's the main theme of the challenge. Hence it's a mixed inspiration overall.

The mood boards:

Coming on to the details.. It's a 12*12 paper from a design pad that I recently grabbed from theworks. I have used Dusty Attic diamond chipboard with my layering and luckily this chipboard matched the background really well. I love using stencils in almost all of my projects. Here I used Tim Holtz stencil and prima modelling paste. I added the blue tones with Lindy's magicals. My stash always cooperates at the stage of adding embellishmentsπŸ™‚
I would like to share my sentiments attached to this Layout coz that's my MUM in the picture and she is my best friend. I can design hundreds of layouts for her with all her pictures that I haveπŸ˜€

Thank you so much for stopping by.. Hope u enjoyed the post.
Have a great day!!

Imperfection is Beautiful

An art journal layout that speaks about Imperfection and Beauty.

For this Layout I have not used many products, just some gesso and acrylic paints. I tried to create a wall like background using a blocks patterned stencil from The Crafters Worskshop and some butterflies I have stamped and cut out which is one of the main components of the challenge theme. The wings of my butterflies are colored in different shades to justify my page title "Imperfection is Beautiful", emphasising on the word "beautiful" with a wooden cut out. I have also added a bit of distress glitter in "pumice stone" in some areas as a final touch.. and that's it!!

Hope u enjoyed this post..Thanks for stopping by.
Have a wonderful day!!

                        A Birthday wish!!

Hello Everyone!!

Card making is fun and fascinating... Isn't..
This card is created for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge PCC236
Here is the sketch:

I have created this card on ivory card stock and used a doily for the first layer that I distressed to make it pop up. For the focal point I have used a circle die cut on which I stamped my sentiment. Then I stamped and colored the flowers followed by fussy cutting. I have used several layers for the flowers to give them dimension.
And that's it!!

For the love of watercolors and cardmaking

Painting with watercolors is bliss.. and more amazing it is when combined with cardmaking activity.
This is my very first collection of hand painted cards. I adore their simplicity!!

One thing that I enjoyed the most while creating these cards was the selection of background colors matching the top layer. Creating background layers is the most interesting part of card making.

I hope you enjoyed the post.. Thank you so much for stopping by.

Hi Everyone!!
My love for bronze never ends.. and there I have something to share today.. a handcrafted bronze toned jewelry set.

The basic element is clay here and I gave it a rectangular shape, making it the main component. I used Finnabair Art alchemy wax for that bronze highlights on the embossed pattern. Lot of antique chains along with beads and charms.. just for a bit of more junked look. Loved the result!!
Art alchemy wax was my first try on this piece.. and it's just amazing. I am more in love with Finnabair!!

This jewelry set is an entry for the Finnabair Designers' Faves challenge -March. Jewelry can be mixed media too.. what a wonderful inspiration!!

Jewelry designing is yet another amazing form of art.. and when it's hand crafted, it is just wonderful.

Thanks for stopping by..
Have a great weekend!!

Hey.. don't forget to say something in the comment box below... πŸ˜„

Hello Friends..
Mixed media is a real stress killer.. It actually transforms stress into awesomeness!!

A 16*12 canvas which I have altered with an antique background and theme. It's my second entry for:
MMW#22: "Anything Mixed Media Goes!"

I started off with covering my used canvas with lots of texture paste and gesso... Then created a stenciled background and just highlighted the center of the canvas with some shabby details. The brown belongs to Lindy's magical family and for the green I used distress spray stain that I am in love with.

Mixed media can be infinitely versatile.. depends on the mood and imagination of an artist and of course, the inspiration.
Hope u enjoyed this post..
Have a wonderful day!!

"Earth" - A nature inspired mixed media canvas

This project is an entry for two challenges:
Nature in itself is an inspiration... It always amazes the world with its unexplainable beauty and bliss..It never fails to inspire an artist.
I have created this canvas with a stenciled background and some green and brown from Lindy's magicals that are all time favorite. I have also used some natural elements to add to the theme of the project.

Thank you so much for stopping by :)
Have a wonderful day!!
